![]() From the moment you begin, CrossfireX meets you with UI and UX that feels confusing and lacks natural direction. It's hard to know where to start when breaking down this mess, so I'll start where the game does: the interface. CrossfireX: What's not goodĬrossfireX is a mess, the kind of mess that oozes into every orifice until nothing is left untouched. I may even choose to return from time to time if CrossfireX eventually improves in any way. I had a few moments of fun playing Search and Destroy (this mirrors Counter-Strike's popular Defusal mode), Team Deathmatch, and the ridiculously silly Nano game mode.ĬrossfireX is probably never going to fight its way onto the list of best Xbox games, but there is some potential here. Still, the "Classic" multiplayer mode does hint at the unique flavor of gameplay that makes these games so popular. Overall, the multiplayer side of CrossfireX is in the worst shape. If, on the other hand, you can forgive the campaign's numerous faults (more on that below) and enjoy a vaguely plot-adjacent romp through hordes of faceless enemies, the campaign's short length actually plays into its favor.ĬrossfireX's campaign won't fill the gaps left by other games, but it can be worth playing. All these weaknesses within game design lead to awful user experiences, eventually causing a great decrease in number of players and shut down. For multiplayer mode, it comes with frequent network lag and disconnection, together with very few options of maps and guns. To make it worse, the single-player campaign mode is disordered without showing any creativity. ![]() Unfortunately, CrossfireX provided very bad experience when it comes to the shooting feel during combats: very hard to aim together with poor shooting feedback. ![]() For FPS video games, it depends mostly on how good the shooting feel in the game is. From my opinion, what means most to a video game is its user experience. ![]() The biggest problem I believe the game has is the very bad user experience provided. Why CrossfireX turns out to be a game that can only operate less than 2 years after launch? Many comments to this game are negative, including “CrossfireX gets little to nothing right”, “what Smilegate, Remedy, and Microsoft have done here is absolutely regrettable”, “I can’t recommend this game to anyone”… As a big FPS video games fan and a player of original Crossfire, I tried out CrossfireX too. However, the game was announced to be shut down by its developer on due to the great lack of players, as the game’s FAQ admitted: “while our team worked hard to push out numerous content updates including fixes, new maps, modes, and in-game events, the game was ultimately not where it needed to be.” In this list, the video game, CrossfireX, was ranked on the second place, with a score of 38 out of 100.ĬrossfireX is a first-person FPS video game developed and published by Smilegate Entertainment for the Xbox on February 10, 2022. Lately, Metacritic released the rank of the Top 10 worst major video games of 2022.
